Every parts company has a catalogue. Not every parts company has a founder who spent five years inside Kobelco before selling a single part independently. This is the story of Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. — how it started at a service bench, and how it ended up shipping Kobelco excavator parts to more than 30 countries.
2002–2007: Learning the Machines From the Inside
Our founder, Robbin Chen, joined China Kobelco in 2002 and spent five years there, moving through three positions: technician, warehouse manager, then service manager. That progression matters more than it looks. A technician learns how parts fail. A warehouse manager learns which parts move, which ones sit, and which ones customers scream for. A service manager learns what a wrong part costs a customer — in downtime, not just in money.
By 2007 he knew the machines, the parts books and the failure patterns. He also knew that owners of Kobelco machines outside the dealer network had very few places to buy the right part quickly at a fair price.
2007: The Business Starts
Robbin left China Kobelco in 2007 and founded a business specialising in Kobelco spare parts. The company did not carry the Shenyue name yet — it was a parts operation built on service experience, not a trading company built on a price list. The specialisation has never changed: nearly twenty years later, Kobelco excavator parts are still the core of the business. Customers abbreviated the company to "Shenyue Kobelco Parts" long before it was a brand name — an honest description of what the company does, and one we are careful to keep honest: we are not an authorized Kobelco dealer, and we say so plainly while supplying genuine and high-quality parts.
2011: The Shenyue Name
In 2011 the business formally became Guangzhou Shenyue Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. — the name customers know today. Growth followed the same logic as the founding: stock what customers actually break, answer technical questions correctly, and never let a customer find out the grade of a part after it has failed.
2021: Corbay — Same Team, Wider World
By 2021 the overseas side of the business had outgrown the structure built for the domestic market. Corbay was established as the dedicated international export brand — operated by the original core team, with the business scope clearly divided from Shenyue. Same warehouses, same technical team, same standards; a name that travels better and a structure built for export documentation and overseas service.

Why the History Matters to a Buyer
Anyone can list Kobelco part numbers on a website. What a buyer is really choosing is the people behind the list — whether the person answering the enquiry has held the part, fitted the part, or sat in the warehouse where it came from. That is the difference between a company that started in 2007 with a service background and one that started last year with a spreadsheet.
